Extract from W.R. Chorley's Bomber Command Losses.

The aircraft was shot down by a night fighter and crashed at Ragelin, 14km NW of Neuruppin. All were killed except Raymond Hilton and the Navigator and Mid Upper Gunner who became Prisoners of War. Raymond was found, badly wounded with brain concussion and a compound fracture of the upper thigh, near Frankendorf. He was taken to Neuruppin Hospital where he died, without regaining consciousness, on 18 February 1944. He was buried on the 21st February in Neuruppin Parish Cemetery.

He was later buried in the Berlin CWGC.
