F/O Day and his crew were posted to 158 Squadron on June 10th, 1944, and flew 39 operations (a complete tour) with the Squadron. Their first operation was on June 14th, 1944, to attack Evrecy and their last operation as a crew was to attack Zoutelande on October 29, 1944. During their time on the Squadron they flew a number of Halifax bombers but their favorite was Halifax III, Serial No. MZ374, Squadron Code NP-B, that carried the name “Blondie”
